Who We Are
Mu Zeta Lambda Education Foundation, Inc. (MZL) is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization operated by Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. - Mu Zeta Lambda Chapter serving Polk County, Florida. The Men of Tomorrow Institute (M.O.T.) is MZL's highly impactful mentoring and development program serving thousands of young men across Polk County since the 1980s.
Our Mission
The mission of the Mu Zeta Lambda Education Foundation is to provide mentorship relationships, educational enrichment resources, community service projects, and training and development opportunities for middle and high school-aged (grades 6-12) young men throughout Polk County, Florida.
Our Impact
For more than three decades, the Mu Zeta Lambda Education Foundation has maintained partnerships with schools, businesses, and community groups to lead efforts to reach adolescent males in communications across Polk County in need of positive influences, a safe space to engage with peers, access to educational resources, and exposure to their surroundings.

Effective, high-quality and enduring mentoring is associated with the capacity for youth to engage in high-quality social relationships, to have greater academic achievement, school engagement, school adjustment, and to view their futures more positively (Rhodes, Spencer, Keller, Liang, & Noam, 2006). Community members looking to make an impact in the lives of youth in Polk County are encouraged to join together with the men of Mu Zeta Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. by providing resources and other contributions.
Why we care?
Young people today are facing immense pressures and surrounded by a host of negative influences. The MZL Education Foundation is working to build pride and confidence in its program participants who are the future of our communities. Relationships with community stakeholders enable the organization to carry out its mission.
Increasing impact
With partnerships throughout Polk, the MZL Education Foundation is able to expose participants to a variety of educational and cultural enrichment opportunities, things they'll otherwise not get a chance to experience.
